| Note | Solid, moderately heavy, robust and impressive deep cold water ovate-fusiform volute (89.4 grams). The shell exhibits a thick natural lip, straight spire and flawless inflated body whorl. The chestnut zigzag pattern envelopes the entire body whorl and is impressive. The flesh-toned primary hue is highlighted by orange tints on the anterior and posterior areas, a memorable example of the species. The shell was trawled off Flinders Island, Tasmania at 75-90 meters in the 90s. The shell exhibits a mini chip on the notch tip, palpable roughness of the anterior lip with silt inclusions present on the inner aperture and columella. Grade: F++/F+++. |
