| Note | Thick, dangerously heavy shell characterized by six to seven dramatic, curved intact spines (1,365.7 grams ). This shell is characterized by a seamless fused columella and parietal nacred sheath extending and covering the entire spire and wrapping over the base of the posterior spine. The shell shows Intricate mottled coloration with cream, tan, and caramel tones complemented by pearl white, peach and soft pink tones in the aperture. The shell is a fantastic display piece, as it sits perfectly on any flat surface on the lateral body whorl, allowing a perfect display of the aperture and vertical projection of all five central spines. Coffee table or show case center piece. Collected by free diver off Al Masirah Island, Oman, Arabian Sea near a rocky reef at 4-6 meters on sand/rubble substrate in the 80s. The shell shows minor body whorl growth folds and a small chip to the second anterior spine tip. The shell also has most of the original periostracum remaining on the dorsal body whorl and spines.
