NoteOne very nice specimen of the boring mytilid Leiosolenus peruvianus. This species is seldom found and it is hard to obtain, as it only lives inside soft rocks. This specimen is in very good condition, with both valves with the calcareous parts, with no damages, and retaining most of its periostracum. It was carefully extracted alive from inside a rock at low tide. A low initial price for an interesting bivalve which is hard to obtain.
