| Note | GEM. The biggest of all time. Crazy mega giant specimen and probably the largest specimen ever offer in Shellauction. The maximum known size reported in Heinke's book - "Sea Urchins" is 70mm diameter. This specimen measured at 77mm diameter and 70mm height. Is is way bigger than a tennis ball which measured at 65mm! Apical disc fully intact. This is not a rare species, but have you ever seen one so huge before? My very last pc and the biggest one I own for decades. Found among large kelp in shallow water, 1st Jan 1993. |
