| Note | This SPECTACULAR, VERY RECENTLY LIVE-COLLECTED specimen of this diminutive, RARE, endemic Polynesian species, is the product of an experimental deep-water dive in Tahiti only a few weeks ago. PERFECTION. Acquired for the JES Collection for the first-hand study and documentation of the living colour and nature of the shell, this magnificent specimen is now to be passed to a Cypraeidae connoisseur, that they may also experience and fully appreciate the exquisite jewel-like quality of the specimen. ‘As live’ colour: rich ochre-orange dorsal ground, with characteristic milky pinkish cloud, and large, well-formed lacunae; pure white margins and dentition. A rare opportunity to obtain an ultra-fresh specimen to maintain under careful curation, as opposed to having to settle for an older, less well-curated example. Data: Tuatira Bay, off Tuatira Point, Tai,arapu-Est, Tahiti, Windward Islands, Society Islands; upon coral sand/rubble substrate, under dead coral fragment, upon outer slope of fringing reef; 48 m; dived; 2025.
