| Note | This is such an extreme variety of Galeodea echinophora, that it was considered a different species, and even a different SUPERFAMILY for more than 150 years after its original description! Eventually synonymized with G. echinophora in 2008! This is the only specimen in this extreme conditions that I own, and it is from an old italian collection of around 50 years collecting specimens. Trawled by fishermen at 90-120 m from Capraia, Italy, late 1980's. |
