| Note | Arashi, Aruba, dived 3-6 meters, under rocks, in sand. Voluta caquetio is a newly described species from Aruba (accepted by WoRMS), previously identified as Voluta musica. It differs by its broader shape, higher protoconch, more columellar folds, and a paler shell with stronger, high-contrast banding. Endemic to Aruba. This specimen shows a pattern of brown axial bands with fine net like lines and scattered dark blotches. Grade: (F+++). This auction, I will be posting exclusively Caribbean specimens, mostly from Aruba. The next auction will feature a broader range of shells from various locations. |
