NoteAn outstanding example of the Western Australian form, characterized by a remarkably heavy and calloused shell. The dorsal pattern features a sharp, dark brown reticulated network with a prominent, clear longitudinal line. The lateral margins are extremely thick and "pushed out," displaying dense, saturated dark brown spotting. The base is ivory-white with a slight lavender tint towards the extremities, featuring deep, well-defined dark brown teeth. The exceptional weight-to-size ratio (35g at 62.1mm) confirms its provenance from the high-energy tidal environments of the Dampier region, where the mollusk deposits extra layers of porcelain for structural reinforcement.
