| Note | Melo melo is actually rather rare within Queensland waters, its stronghold being farther North, in Indonesia and the Philippines. This was the LARGEST and FINEST specimen I ever obtained of the Queensland form for the JES Collection. Beautiful rich earth colours. Exemplrary quality for this deep-water, trawled, typically very rough species. A product of the legendary 1980s Queensland trawls – never collected since – and now obtainable only from choice old collections.
