An EXCEPTIONAL large specimen of the ‘classic’ northern Victorian form, from the legendary 1960s-1980s Lakes Entrance trawls, exhibiting a paucity of dorsal maculations, in conjunction with a particularly white ground, lending the specimen a markedly PURE appearance. RARE QUALITY for the species, size, locality, and collection method. A hesitata for the Umbilia connoisseur. Data: Bass Strait, off Lakes Entrance, Gippsland, Victoria, Australia; upon sand substrate; 60-120 m; trawled; 1986. Size: 99.6 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
