| Note | Although a common cone, occasionally one comes along that complements the species in color and pattern. Two strong sepia brown bands with laser cut black dashed axial lines pop-out in this memorable specimen. The shell displays a heavily nodulated superb spire, flawless body whorl and heavy size/weight ratio. (75.2 grams). The shell collected off northern Cebu, Philippines at 10-12 meters on sand circa 2000. There is erosion of the protoconch and 5mm of the lip toward the anal notch has been shaved and hard to see without magnification. Grade: F++. |
