| Note | An exceptionally elongate and morphologically superb specimen with intense dorsal spotting and an impressive maculae pattern. The shell is highlighted by intense dark brown spotting concentrated on the lateral walls and extremities. The admirable sienna/light brown blotching/patterning is painted over a cream white dorsum primary hue. The anterior extremity has a classic transverse groove and both extremities are richly pigmented, making this a standout specimen among most hesitatas. The shell has a strong size/weight ratio (81.9 grams). Collected by trawler off Wilsons Promontory, Bass Straight, Victoria, Australia at 60-90 meters in 7/1994. There are present two micro inclusions on the dorsum. Grade: GEM minus. |
