| Note | Robust, darkly pigmented and lovely specimen from the north Indian Ocean. The specimen shows a distinctive and exceptional crisp/dashed orange axial spiral banding pattern with interrupted dark brown zigzag flammules complementing the beige/grey primary whorl hue. The shell exhibits a perfect protoconch, spire and strong columellar plaits. Collected at 10-15 meters on sand/grass substrate by local fisherman off Trinco, Sri Lanka in the 90s.' The shell demonstrates palpable shallow chipping of the anterior and posterior razor thin lip and notch with a dark stain in the aperture, not considered a structural defect. Grade: F++/F+++. |
