Over the past 10-15 years the number of divers that access the Southern West-Australian coastline has steadily declined to the point where only a handful of dives are carried out each year. This is due to increased shark encounters and newly implemented Marine Parks which have drastically cut into the areas where Commercial Specimen Shell divers can access. Each year we bravely embark upon a campaign to explore the deeper waters off Esperance which are well known for large, bulbous shaped venusta and this is one of the wonderful DIVER HAND COLLECTED specimens we were fortunate enough to harvest. Here is a GIGANTIC SIZED Z.venusta which towers almost all other specimens of the same species. This shell is a GIANT PINK ORB with a scattering of dark brown speckles which are scarcely spread over the dorsum. There’s not much to say for this shell as the colour and size speaks for itself and shells over 80mm are EXTREMELY SELDOM seen. This monster specimen is graded f+++ with some dorsal imperfections and blisters around anterior canal (not chips).
