| Note | Here is a scarcely seen form of ZOila. Only found from a few remote patches of rarely dived reefs, the friendii marina form is still a shell missing from most collections. This specimen is a male which is characterised by the smaller size whilst still having the inflated mid-section and columellar teeth which are key features of this subspecies. Classic mottled dorsum with hints of BLUE, GOLD and ORANGE breaking up the otherwise uniform dark pattern. This shell is a male and highly likely that the giant friendii we also have for offering is the paired female shell! F++ with some growth lines and some light blistering in places on the dorsum and a tiny chip in the posterior canal. Live taken by Thomas Daly resting amongst sponges and small algae tufts at 28m on low profile limestone reef in extremely close proximity to the other massive friendii we have on offer this auction.
