| Note | Very large specimen from Tenerife, Canary Islands, recovered from desalination inlet-flow shell debris; live-collected, 2024. Specimens of this size are exceptionally rare and seldom encountered in regional material. One of the largest Tenerife specimens observed in years. Well-preserved shell, retaining fully intact plicate valve margins and marginal dentition; one smaller auricle with a slight micro-tear, visible in the photographs. Very attractive colour form with well-preserved radial plicae and commarginal sculpture. |
