Crepidula cf. coquimbensis - very rare! , Brown & Olivares 1996
Size
21 mm
Locality
Caldera, northern Chile
Note
One very nice specimen of Crepidula coquimbensis (about 21 mm long), a rare species which only lives inside empty shells occupied by a living Pagurus crab. This specimen is still stuck inside a rare Tegula euryomphala shell, but can be dettached with some care (or you can simply crack the tegula shell). A rare species from northern Chile and a nice Natural History item.
