A rare species endemic to the Colombian Andes, with specimens that are becoming increasingly scarce and difficult to obtain due to the extensive loss of the region’s original humid and cloud forest ecosystems. This shell is distinguished by its lower band with alternating black and white coloration, a chipped apex, and a glossy black outer lip that gradually fades into a violet hue, itself also slightly chipped. It exhibits a natural repair on the fifth whorl, likely the result of a predatory attack by a bird. These characteristics are entirely consistent with natural field conditions and in no way diminish the aesthetic or scientific value of the specimen; rather, they add authenticity and ecological significance to its provenance. Collected from leaf litter in a humid montane forest at 1,560 meters above sea level in June 2023, this specimen represents an excellent opportunity for collectors and researchers seeking rare Andean material at a competitive starting price in an international auction setting.
