SIPHONARIIDAE - Siphonaria palmata (Carpenter, 1857). MARVELOUS SELDOM SEEN PATTERN!! The most elegant and intact dorsal side with wonderful pattern and dense ribs. Look at this Brown-Black marvelous glossy masterpiece ventral side with white outline lip fingers. Striking sculpture. White long axial elegant ribs forming the great fingers. A very interesting species that in many cases remains in the same place all its life, forming together with the erosion on the stone the exacted figure of the shell outline. Exceptional conditions for the species the best!! F+++. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. North from La Calechosa, Bahia de Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico.
