| Note | An impressively large specimen, distinguished by its remarkable size—an increasingly sought-after characteristic among collectors of terrestrial gastropods. Large examples of this species are seldom encountered and are highly desirable for their strong display presence and collection value. Collected in forest habitat by local inhabitants of the coastal village of Kiwengwa, situated on the northeastern coast of Unguja Island, Tanzania, this specimen represents an attractive example from a well-known East African locality. The apex is chipped and the outer lip shows damage, imperfections that are clearly reflected in the starting price. Nevertheless, the shell retains its imposing dimensions and remains an excellent representative of the species. Specimens of this size are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain, making this lot particularly appealing to collectors seeking unusually large examples for their collections. A noteworthy opportunity to acquire a giant-sized specimen from Tanzania, certain to attract attention in any serious assemblage of African land snails. |
