Muelle de Añaza, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. 19 m depth; collected by a local diver during SCUBA operations, July 2025. l|c. Found below the cliff line within a field of small rocks and boulders. Large specimen for Canary Islands material. Exterior cream-white to pale ivory, retaining well-developed concentric growth sculpture and the characteristic flexuous shell profile. Light natural encrustation present on the exterior surface; specimen remains untreated and has not been oiled. Auricles complete and well preserved. Marginal denticles intact throughout. Interior surfaces clean, lustrous, and displaying attractive pale violet to mauve coloration around the shell margins and hinge region. Overall a notably well-preserved specimen with excellent structural integrity and attractive natural coloration. Field note: Among the rarest pectinids encountered in the Canary Islands. Despite many hundreds of dives over several years, only approximately ten fragmentary or partial specimens have been documented by the local technical-diving community. Even fragments are unknown from beach or low-tide deposits. Locally, the species appears markedly rarer than even Bractechlamys spp. and Manupecten spp.
