The FINEST specimen I have ever encountered of the little known, almost never offered GREAT BARRIER REEF FORM – the most beautiful incarnation of the species. Extremely large size. RARE QUALITY – PERFECTION. Exquisite colour: ivory ground, with nebulous pale lavender-cinnamon maculations, decorated with a perfectly formed, dramatic pattern in ultra-rich espresso. Specimens from the Swain Reefs are rarely encountered, and exhibit an elegance quite distinct from examples from other localities. The shell is slightly finer, and the specimens of great purity, coming from the clean white coral sand of the locality. The ONLY Swain Reef specimen I have to offer. Data: Perfect Lagoon, Swain Reefs, Great Barrier Reef, Queensland, Australia; upon fine coral sand substrate; 6-8 m; dived; 1999. Size: 45 mm. Grading: Gem.
