| Note | A SPECTACULAR specimen of the diminutive, solid, New South Wales form, exhibiting a UNIQUE PATTERN – only TEN axial stripes of rich reddish caramel, traversing a yellowish cream ground, only FOUR of which are upon the dorsum. Not collected for decades, and now obtainable only from choice old collections, and, of course, never exactly like this. Data: Off Tweed Heads, Northern Rivers Region, New South Wales, Australia; upon sand substrate; 130-220 m; trawled; 1986. Size: 33.6 mm. Grading: Fine++++. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
