| Note | GIANT SIZE WITH ULTRA RARE SPECIAL PURPLE-YELLOW COLOR!! First time I can offer this inside valves coloration between Yellow lip side colors and spotted dark purple colors inside. Crazy thick massive and colossal lip with extraordinary multiple thick and dense concentric ribs-scales ornament. Really wonderful piece of art. There are some tiny imperfections, tiny chip in scales and crater holes near the umbo side not really harming this Giant beauty. Found after big storm with big waves removing the mud and exposing the shell, otherwise impossible to find this specimen between the rocks. My father remembers that in the 80s and 90s there were many Periglypta multicostata with impressive giant sizes in almost every muddy areas, and he's sure that overfishing by divers nearly wiped them out, but also that some change in temperature because the global warming and this extinct many of the populations in my region, a few scare specimens are hidden but really hard to get and rarely seen. For many divers, this is one of the most delicious and coveted clams. Sometimes when I'm diving, I see some giants dead, and really old specimens, almost fossilized after several decades on the seafloor. Now, after some populations have disappeared, others appear on rare occasions. Very rare Bivalve in my area with impressive thick, massive, colossal lip body shape and with the classic thick multiple concentric ribs all around, really impressive.
