One very nice specimen of the pulmonate limpet Siphonaria lessonii. This is a pulmonate marine limpet which lives in the upper part of the intertidal zone. It appears that it has some variation in their shells or that they represent a few cryptic species. This specimen was collected fresh dead among algae rubble in a beach in northern Chile and it is excellent condition for the species, having a dorsum sculptured with radial ribs and a very shiny interior of the shell of a very deep purple-brown color. Of interest is that specimen has a white border of the shell, different from the normal dark border of the shell (perhaps a variation or a different species). A low price for an interesting species from the SE Pacific Ocean.
