Rotund and thickly calloused specimen with a thick nacred dorsum displaying a mellow brown/tan/grey primary color with an phenomenal array of blotching and spotting, a much coveted and desirable porteri pattern. Exceptional specimen with great coloration, patterning and form. The highly gazed perfect base beams a strong pastel/tangerine orange colored base. The shell has perfect extremities, thick rounded/calloused margins that are raised high to the lateral walls. Highly collectible example of the species with a favorable weight/size ratio (21.1 grams). The porteri was snagged by tangle net at 100-120 meters off Balut Island, Mindanao, Philippines in 12/2023. The specimen exhibits a subtle, palpable wobble on the anterior labral ramp, not visible in images. Grade: F+++.
