Note
Larger, elongate and hard to find specimen from the offshore Indian population. Integrated and well distributed light tope mixed spotting on a camel brown dorsal landscape with a clean wide mantle line highlighting the aesthetics of this specimen. Larger than most specimens from this area with great coloration. The shell shows flawless extremities, thick rounded margins that are moderately tuberculated, glossy nacre with a cream beige colored base. Very desirable and prominent example of the species with a decent weight/size ratio (36.0 grams). The specimen differs anatomically from the typical Thailand/Myanmar populations. Live captured by diver at 5-10 meters in 9/2019 off the Ervadi, Keelakarai, Tamil Nadu, India in 9/2024. The specimen with has some silt stains on the columellar base and faintly pigmented lines on the labral base as seen in the ventral image. Grade: F+++.
