| Note | On this auction are a few Zoila from my personal collection, not stock shells. This is a prestigious specimen figured in Australia's Spectacular Cowries by Wilson & Clarkson (2004) on page 135, pl. 123, fig. f. It is a dark base form of the Coral Bay jeaniana, probably a protected area now, fished 38m deep by Peter Clarkson in 1997. The shell has a minor blemish on the lower part of the central dorsum. Otherwise it's perfect. For those who want specimens figured in this famous book this is an interesting one. Very heavy and large specimen with magnificent display on the labral side in particular. In my collection since May 2021. |
