| Note | In this auction are some Zoila from my personal collection, not stock shells. Here we have another friendii which is figured in `Australia's Spectacular Cowries' by Wilson & Clarkson (2004), p. 106, pl. 92, fig. a. Found by Peter Clarkson, 1995 at 40m depth, with his original hand-written tag. Specimen is a rather delicate specimen with nice posterior flaring, starting to look a little like some thersites. It has a dense dark brown swathe on the labral side with a pale dorsal line above. Canals are perfect and there are no blemishes on the shell. A rather short growth scar near the posterior end although it mirrors the dorsal line at the anterior so it isn't so offensive. In my collection since December 2020. Rare opportunity. |
