LOTTIIDAE - Lottia cf. stanfordiana. RARE UNUSUAL PATTERN AND COLOR MAYBE UNKNOWN SPECIES!! The dorsum shows an unusual brown dominant color between the white stripes-spots all around the lip sides with ring effect around the top. No really white pattern on the dorsum side. The ventral side displays a dark brown ring lip with white tiny spots, then a green-bluish tiny ring, then light brown with yellowish effect and a the middle a crazy large extreme dark brown spot with delightful effect. Really confusing specimen between Lottia mesoleuca and Lottia stanfordiana variation or simply a new undescribed species. Do not miss this unique opportunity to get this unique Jewel. Hard, difficult and dangerous to get them between strong currents and big waves. Some minor tiny scars between not really harming this beauty. F+++. Apparently feeding on the marine soup that comes and goes with the currents, waves and seaweeds, this species lives where the waves break and in the intertidal zone. Really hard to remove from stones without braking them. Found attached to the rocks with green and brown algae at extremely low tide. Near Playa Arroyo Seco, Jalisco, Mexico. June 2025.
