The Philippine form possesses an elegance lacking in examples from all other localities, along with a finer shell, and a more beautiful colour. The species is far rarer in the Philippines than in the China Sea. Exceptional quality – virtual perfection. Retention of the exceedingly delicate caramel PROTOCONCH, lost upon virtually all examples. No longer freshly collected. Family: Raphitomidae.
