| Note | Beautiful fusoid specimen with three elaborate winged varices with perfect backswept open spines. The shell displays a high, intact spire and protoconch with shades of buff, camel and bronze brown body whorl pigmentation with a khaki brown spire and varix based pigmentation at the varical margins. Hard to find a better example of this west coast endemic Australian rock shell. The specimen was caught cruising on a mud/sand substrate at low tide on the Anchovy Flats, Dampier, northwestern Western Australia. The specimen is close to ideal condition. Grade: GEM minus. |
