| Note | Fusoid specimen with excellent color, symmetry and features. The shell boasts a collage of light pale peach and pastel/champagne orange coloring painted gracefully over the body whorl and three prominent foliaceous open spine varices. The shell exhibits an intact protoconch, spire, aperture lip and siphonal canal. The spiral structure consists of multiple spiral cords and minutely tuberculate threads. A rare and beautiful specimen. The shell was picked up from a lobster trap set at 80-90 meters north of Dry Tortugas, south west of Key West, Florida in 2025. The specimen shows attrition of two foliaceous spines on the leading varix. Grade: F+++/GEM minus. |
