| Note | One of the LAST and FINEST specimens of the JES Collection. Large size. Ultra-rich and beautiful colour. RARE QUALITY. The particular shade of vibrant orange exhibited by this species when living has a tendency to fade to a yellowish orange under poor curation, but the current outstanding specimen has been impeccably curated for thrity years in the JES Collection, and retains the full vibrancy of the LIVING colour. Collected in limited numbers during the 1990s, specimens are now obtainable only from choice old collections. A ‘top of the line’ specimen for the Volutidae connoisseur. Data: Off Andavadoaka, Morombe, Atsimo-Andrefana, Madagascar; upon fine sand/mud substrate, amongst seagrass; 4-6 m; dived; 1996. Size: 50.3 mm. Grading: Gem.
