| Note | This is a unique specimen for the collector who appreciates notable color variation within a species based on habitat. The bright honey, apricot and carrot orange overcoat pigmentation framing the dorsum and lateral walls is exceptional. Solid flawless extremities and porcelain white base framed in pastel orange complement the desirable nature of the specimen,. The shell shows a thick glossy nacre, interesting lateral wall spotting and modest rostration. A superb example of an elusive rufinistic tiger that would show prominence in any collection. Live taken by Scuba diver at 15-18 meters on a shipwreck off Spratly Islands, South China Sea circa 80s. Heavy at 87.3 grams. The shell shows some subtle dorsal blemishes. Grade: GEM minus. |
