| Note | Malmok, Aruba, scuba diving at 4-9 meters deep, on sparse grass/sand bottom at night. Well over 50mm! A large and heavy shell. This relatively rare species is endemic to Aruba and occurs in a small area with seagrass near Malmok, where it hunts at night. The shell has a perfect lip and no visible growth lines, which is uncommon, especially given its size. With a tiny perculum, which probably does not serve much of a function (evolutionary remnant?). Grade: (Gem-). |
