NoteSPECIAL SALE – MASTERPIECES OF THE JES COLLECTION: The LARGEST and FINEST specimen I have ever encountered of this singular endemic Hawai’ian species, this FLAWLESS GIANT is quite possibly the FINEST KNOWN EXAMPLE. Extremely rare size. Exceedingly rare, almost unheard of quality for such enormous size. The majority of examples are dead-collected, in a fair to poor state, but the current magnificent specimen is / as LIVE-COLLECTED GEM. Definitely for the dedicated collector of the world’s finest and rarest seashells. Data: Off Makaha, Oahu, Hawai’ian Islands; upon sand/rubble substrate; 80-120 m; lobster pot; 1991. Size: 73.8 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne.
