Name | Perotrochus westralis - STUNNING COLOUR, QUALITY , (Whitehead, T., 1987) |
Size | 100.1 mm, w/o |
Locality | Port Hedland, N.W. Australia. |
Note | A lovely specimen of Plt. westralica with rich orange colour and lovely opalised mother of pearl colour inside. This specimen is particularly beautiful with very precise and sharp circle lines around each body swirl. It is not interrupted by any growthlines are scars making it very attractive to the eye. I grade the overall specimen GEM but I note that the lip and slit have been filed by the previous owner, but done well to follow the natural growth ring of the shell. A relatively common practise. Trawled in 350M. off Port Hedland, Western Australian. |
