Note | Two of the largest and BEST specimens I have ever handled of the uncommon and beautiful orange colour form of this South-Eastern Australian endemic species are offered in this sale. Both exhibit ultra-rich colour, are devoid of typical erosion and encrustation, and are extremely clean. Now obtainable principally from old collections. It is extremely difficult to obtain a specimen with such rich colour, size, and high quality. Note: One valve is always slightly smaller in this species, and fits perfectly inside the other. Size: 76.8 mm (longest dimension). Grading: F+++. Data: Off Taylor Island, Spencer Gulf, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 40-60 m; dived; 1992. |
