| Note | G_VERM_1443 (B2)... Fragment of colony collected at 1m deep, Tropea, Vibo Valentia, Calabria, 2015, with some tube-dweller hermit-crabs in some apertures. Like the western Atlantic Calcinus verrillii (Rathbun, 1901) from Bermuda, Calcinus tubularis (Linnaeus, 1767) is well known for its ability to inhabit gastropod tubes and shells: the males occupying loose shells, the females prefering attached tubes, even though they are larger than males... Size of the whole fragment: circa 5-6cm.
