Today, rare on the markets. ”Long spines” pieces have always been rare. The reesianus is a deep-water Spondylus. This genus occur in the 100 m zone. This is a exceptional piece because of the particularly long spines without the sometimes seen spatulate extensions. No shell with such spines has ever been figured in books.
