Note | Young representative of this rare South Seas cone that displays the desirable mottled crimson/brick red pattern interrupted by white spotted banding. The smaller specimen displays moderate nacre gloss, axial ribbing and moderate weight for it's size. The specimen was found on sand bottom at 34 meters off Rurutu Island, French Polynesia in 2010. The shell shows wear on the spire and protoconch, with a small nick on the anterior of the thick natural lip. The shell was Dead Collected. Grade: Pretty good. |
