Item | # 0003301275 |
Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella crassa - Very nice, selected , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 54 and 46 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | Two very nice and selected specimens of Fissurella crassa. Large Fissurella species in northern Chile are actively collected by fishermen, so they often have nicks and damages on the border of the lip, and they are always found with scurria scars on the shells. This lot includes two specimens in excellent condition for the species, as they have a perfect border of the shell and naturally cleaned dorsums, which is quite difficult to find in the field. A nice lot of very nice specimens for a low price. |
