Item | # 0003301280 |
Family | Fissurellidae |
Name | Fissurella crassa , Lamarck, 1822 |
Size | 47 mm |
Locality | Caldera, northern Chile |
Note | One nice specimen of Fissurella crassa. Large Fissurella species in northern Chile are actively collected by fishermen, so they often have nicks and damages on the border of the lip, and they are always found with scurria scars on the shells. This particular specimen is in fair condition for the species, as it has a nice border of the shell with a tiny nick and a naturally clean and slightly eroded dorsum with no Scurria scars or damages. A very low price for an interesting species. |
