Name | Zoila friendii friendii - DARK, SPOTTY GONDOLA , (Gray, 1831) |
Size | 85.00 mm |
Locality | Carnac Island, Fremantle, WA |
Note | On offer here is a classic GONDOLA SHAPED friendii from the Carnac Island population. It's rare these days to find a friendii which exhibits the ROSTRATE SHAPE that this shell has. A wonderful classic, dark blotched pattern with a large blue window on the collumellar side is met with STRIKING SPOTTED markings running around the entire margin of the shell. Its thick black calloused base and EXTENDED CANALS shows the maturity of the shell. A really special shell of which the photos do not do it justice and you will not be disappointed. Gem- condition which is mainly precautionary with a re-healed chip on the posterior canal but no growth lines on the dorsum and perfect anterior canal. Taken by diver at 14m on a red paddle sponge on the wall of a large limestone boulder at 14m. North West of Carnac Island W.A. By Thomas Daly February 2024. *White marks are from camera reflection.
