Note | Large example of an uncommon cone from the Western Pacific area. This collectible specimen has a impressive pattern, with two interrupted chocolate brown bands intermingled with brown squares in a dashed axial pattern. The shell is moderately light in weight, medium gloss with an elongate body whorl and pale violet aperture. The shell was trapped in a tangle net at 30-35 meters off Manila Bay, Luzon, Philippines in 1986. Acquired from old collection. The shell has a flawless natural lip, minor growth folds on the body whorl and a slightly worn protoconch. Grade: F+++/GEM. |
