Note | Great patterned example of this deep water pyriform species with high nacre gloss and a memorable three-blotch pattern. The shell shows classic dark dorsal blotches with superb lateral wall black spotting. Excellent specimen with thick nacre, perfect extremities and thick margins. The shell was live captured by trawler off Taiwan, East China Sea in 2008 at 100-150 meters. A few negligible subnacre blemishes and a hypo-calcified area on the columellar teeth extensions limited to the columellar side. Grade: F+++. |
