Item | # 0003334577 |
Family | Patellidae |
Name | Nacella concinna f. polaris - Rare, Remote location , (Strebel, 1908) |
Size | 37 mm |
Locality | Antarctica |
Note | One nice and rather large specimen of Nacella concinna, the form previously known as Nacella polaris, from King George Island, South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. This species is apparently common locally, but it is rare in collections as it is difficult to obtain because of the remote locality. Specimens of this species are always eroded in their dorsum, and this species is indeed eroded but it has good margins and a nice interior of the shell. This is your opportunity to obtain a very nice and interesting mollusk from a rare and remote locality. |
