Family | LANDSNAILS |
Name | Orthalicus princeps - FANTASTIC PATTERN WOOW!! |
Size | 29.5 mm |
Locality | Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico |
Note | ORTHALICIDAE - Orthalicus princeps (Broderip, 1833). This species is a great mystery since it lives in very remote subcaducifolia forests between the coastal zone and in winter the vegetation remains dry which means that these individuals only come out during the rainy season to protect themselves from the humidity. In some very rare cases they are seen in this area, this one in particular I found it inside a trunk looking for wood. The line pattern is clearly and elegantly visible. There can be tiny imperfections around the spire as usual and apex absent as usual not really detracting the beauty. Found inside a big piece of wood deep in the jungle. Cuastecomates, Jalisco, Mexico. November 2023. Value for this seldom seen species and with great lines pattern: 28-36 euro. MEXICO PACIFIC. Seller country is Germany please check shipping prices only with tracking number. Thank you and good luck! |
