Note | A superb, very large specimen of the classic, Great Australian Bight form, exhibiting a unique dorsal pattern, consisting of a single large caramel-ochre circular macula, upon an otherwise plain ground of pale yellowish ivory, to striking aesthetic effect. A highly interesting and beautiful armeniaca for the Umbilia specialist. No longer collected, and now obtainable only from old collections. Data: Great Australian Bight, off Ceduna, South Australia, Australia; upon sand substrate; 140-150 m; 2000. Size: 90.5 mm. Grading: Gem. Provenance: JES Collection; London / Melbourne. |
